PRINTOLOGY

How goof studies printing, physical media, and production.

Printology is the name goof gives to its questions about printing itself: what print can do now, what it costs, and what it makes possible. Not a position. A practice.

There are still questions worth asking about physical media.

goof runs production. That is what keeps the question from staying academic: any question about printing eventually arrives at a machine, a material, a cost, a deadline. Printology is where we keep that question open until it becomes useful.

Printing is not a settled subject.

goof.CAMPUS — where a question meets an actual machine.

A working production lab in Yokohama. This is where a question stops being a question and becomes a print run.

GOOF.ZINE

goof.zine — when Printology becomes a printed object.

Printed, bound, handed over. goof.zine is Printology as something you can hold rather than something being argued.

Between issues the questions keep going — essays, interviews, observations, audio.

Join the people exploring what physical media can become.

Printology is also about people — the ones who run the machines, ask the awkward questions, and put the next issue together. There are two ways in.
